Outline Job Description:

Client contract and tender review and negotiation; procurement agreement drafting/negotiation; support on regulatory/compliance matters; office lease review and negotiation.


List of Responsibilities (not necessarily exhaustive):

  • Review contractual aspects of all client related bids, proposals, tenders, contractual agreements and arrangements.
  • Review legal aspects of other DUG contractual agreements and arrangements, including but not limited to property leases, supplier agreements and memberships.
  • Records and legal database management and filing.
  • Raise material contract variances with the Commercial Manager and jointly formulate client response. This may involve liaising with external council.
  • Ensure that all documents and other contractual documents are effectively drafted, reviewed, interpreted, vetted and well-maintained and organized.
  • Maintain and update DUG’s policies and procedures.
  • Review relevant legislation and regulations and update the DUG executive and board.
  • Responsible for reviewing and where necessary updating non–technical information requests that form part of tender responses. For example, but not limited to, HSE, quality and policies.
  • Assisting in Intellectual Property management, including renewal of trademarks and patents.
  • Undertake special assignments, ad-hoc projects and related duties as and when required.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial law or in an in-house role, preferably for a services company and/or within the resources (O&G) or IT industries.
  • International experience is favourable but not essential.
  • English is a prerequisite (English as a second language also welcomed, particularly if Spanish is first language).
