Creating Velocities (Layered Proportional Models) is part five of the seven-part creating velocities DUG Insight series. You can see parts one to four here, here, here and here.
Building on techniques from the rest of our Creating Velocities series, today we demonstrate how to create a complex layered synthetic velocity model with varying gradients and smooth transitions between layers.
The result is a detailed, spatially-varying velocity model that conforms to structure — exactly what we need for DUG Insight’s on-the-fly time-to-depth conversion!
