DUG Insight is the only geoscience software that spans the complete workflow from seismic data processing and depth imaging through to interpretation, visualisation and rock-property prediction — all in a single, integrated package.
With the addition of DUG Elastic Multi-parameter Full Waveform Inversion (MP-FWI) Imaging, it now delivers high-resolution elastic rock properties directly from field data.
Talking geoscience with DUG Insight
Geoscience teams often work with many different software programs. Moving between these applications requires data exchange and format conversion, which takes time and could lead to mistakes. By the time the data reaches the decision maker’s desk, time (aka money) and attention has been wasted — time that should have been spent on acquiring knowledge. This fragmented workflow also stops people from working together and sharing their different skills in a complementary way. Geoscience teams often work with many different software programs. DUG’s software provides a single workspace where every geoscientist can work together. For interpreters, this means interactive 2D/3D/gather visualisation with tools for fault and horizon picking, well management and manipulation, crossplotting and AI-assisted interpretation — plus on-demand generation of attributes including dip and azimuth, semblance, curvature, spectral decomposition and RGB blending.

For processing geophysicists, it means a full suite of time-processing and depth-imaging tools scalable to massive data volumes from any acquisition geometry — land, marine or ocean-bottom node — with dedicated capabilities for time-lapse (4D) and multicomponent data. With DUG Insight, users are not required to run heavy batch processes just to test a parameter — workflows that used to take hours or overnight to run can be tested and QC’d in seconds.

On the other hand, QI specialists get the fastest path to rock properties and probabilistic lithology and fluid prediction, with tools from statistical rock physics, to traditional AVA inversion, to DUG’s revolutionary elastic MP-FWI imaging technology.

DUG Insight’s 3D geostatistical velocity scaling workflow calibrates a model to wells for use in depth conversion, model building workflows, and QI applications including pore pressure prediction.

Let’s talk R&D
AI tools are now increasingly integrated into DUG Insight’s workflows for maximum efficiency, whether it is lithology prediction, fault and horizon interpretation, or accelerated convergence of DUG’s MP-FWI. Meanwhile, the software’s API gives users the flexibility to bring their own code into the environment. Supporting Java, C/C++, C# and Python, your custom code will be treated with the dignity it deserves — no additional licensing required, and all intellectual property stays with the user.

Underpinning these efforts is a sustained R&D programme that continues to embed more physics into the software. Complex acquisition effects — including tides, water-column changes, currents and array geometry — are now being modelled, vital for full-wavefield imaging and for achieving superior time-lapse (4D) results. On land, even ground roll can be inverted to give high-resolution shear-wave velocity, while the new land statics methodology (AMGRT) solves near-surface complexity to correctly position deep targets.
