Creating Velocities (vertical merging) is the seventh and final part in our creating velocities DUG Insight series. You can see parts one through six here, here, here, here, here, and here.
With so many approaches to creating velocity models, some will invariably perform better than others. But how can you use the best parts of two models?
Vertical merging is a safe way to combine two velocity models at a horizon or time, while maintaining the time-depth relationships from each. Don’t settle for two reasonable models!
Use this technique and DUG Insight’s volume merge to create one great one.
