Golfo De Venezuela Multi-Client 2D Survey

Greater Caribbean Basin 2D PreSDM seismic reprocessing

DUG in collaboration with Geoex MCG

Project Overview

2025 Broadband PreSDM reprocessed 2D seismic survey – 5,451 km.
Reprocessing of this survey has better elucidated the formations associated with the Perla discovery.
17 TCF of gas was located in Oligo-Miocene carbonates charged by a Tertiary source rock – a different petroleum system to that of the prolific Maracaibo Lake which relies on the Late Cretaceous, La Luna interval.
Similar carbonate type structures are evident within the dataset which has potential exploration implications for further gas discoveries.

Project Highlights

More than 18,000 km of exclusive newly reprocessed (2025) datasets are now available for the Greater Caribbean Basin, covering key areas in Venezuela and Trinidad & Tobago. This project, undertaken by Geoex MCG in partnership with DUG, provides advanced imaging of significant exploration potential in proximity to offshore oil and gas fields.

Goal: To improve subsurface imaging, reduce exploration risk, and identify new prospects in the Greater Caribbean region.

Application: The data is designed to assist in evaluating complex regional and stratigraphic relationships, including those associated with potential tie-backs to Atlantic LNG facilities.

Availability: These datasets are part of a larger campaign, with data available for viewing by request through Geoex MCG.
