Norte De Paria Multi-Client 2D Survey

Greater Caribbean Basin 2D PreSDM seismic reprocessing

DUG in collaboration with Geoex MCG

Project Overview

2025 Broadband PreSDM reprocessed 2D seismic survey – 7,981 km.
Located in close proximity to the Dragon, Hibiscus and Rio Caribe gas discoveries. This survey has aimed to better image the Mio-Pliocene intervals associated with these fields within a broader regional perspective.
The original 1980 legacy data have been rejuvenated with modern processing algorithms to provide a clearer image of the complex regional and stratigraphic relationships in the Carupano Basin. The domal structures associated with these discoveries have been evaluated in more detail and will provide a key tie point for evaluating similar structures in close proximity.

Project Highlights

More than 18,000 km of exclusive newly reprocessed (2025) datasets are now available for the Greater Caribbean Basin, covering key areas in Venezuela and Trinidad & Tobago. This project, undertaken by Geoex MCG in partnership with DUG, provides advanced imaging of significant exploration potential in proximity to offshore oil and gas fields.

Goal: To improve subsurface imaging, reduce exploration risk, and identify new prospects in the Greater Caribbean region.

Application: The data is designed to assist in evaluating complex regional and stratigraphic relationships, including those associated with potential tie-backs to Atlantic LNG facilities.

Availability: These datasets are part of a larger campaign, with data available for viewing by request through Geoex MCG.
