We are so proud that some good friends of DUG are out there right now doing amazing things for great causes. We’d like to share their stories with you, and urge you to donate and help them along as they achieve their incredible goals.
Myra Keep, our friend from the UWA School of Earth and Environment, is about to embark on the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon: the Comrades Marathon. This gruelling event is run over an incredible 90km across South Africa on Sunday 31 May. We’ve supported Myra in her run and her chosen charity. If you’d like to sponsor Myra too, click here.
DUG is also proud to support Rodney and Andrea Hodge and their friends in their amazing ride for charity: The TransAmerica Cycle Challenge. This group of adventurous 50+ year olds are currently one week in to an amazing 10 week ride across the continent of North America. Starting in Florence, Oregon on the West Coast they will ride a gruelling 6,600km across the country, Rocky Mountains and all, to arrive in Yorktown Virginia. What a feat! Along the way they hope to raise $30,000 for Wheelchairs for Kids, a charity that produces rough terrain wheelchairs for disabled children in developing countries. If you’d like to help them in this worthy cause click here to donate.
Finally we’d like to bring you an update on DUG’s charity partner, 12 Buckets. 12 Buckets works with at risk or disadvantaged children to create opportunites for them within their school and community environments. Travis Fitch, founder and CEO, has kindly provided us with an update on how our company is helping him help the kids of Perth. To read the newsletter click here.
