The dizzying highs and the terrifying lows

The concepts of integration and differentiation are closely related to signal processing and filtering in particular (and also milk).

While there is a continuum from low to high frequencies, this helps us to understand why seismic wave transport (kinematics) is controlled more by the lower frequencies, while seismic wave scattering (dynamics) is controlled more by the higher frequencies.

A multi-parameter FWI is necessary when using reflections for simultaneous model building and true-amplitude imaging. Both kinematics (velocity) and dynamics (reflectivity) are required. A single parameter FWI cannot separate these two quantities with efficacy.

DUG Multi-parameter FWI Imaging is a complete replacement for the conventional processing and imaging workflow.
